TRIP TO EAST COAST

This is my third trip to Kelantan but the very first time visit to Terengganu. Initially when my office clerk told me that we're going to the east coast states, I was so excited as I've never gone to Terengganu before. So, I agreed to go along with pleasure. But when it was about the time to go, when I got the tentative itinerary in my hands, I found that the activity for the trip was sooooo boring and very the 'makcik-makcik'. Guess what, the shopping activity conquers the trip over other activities.

I was about to cancel the trip when my colleague said he's not going as he got another thing that needs him to stay-and I was relieve too because there was a reason for me not to go. But finally he said that he can go, just few days before we should depart. My God, obviously I had to go too because there's no more reason not to go.

Except for the shopping activity, I can say that Terengganu is pretty awesome. The scenery amazed me with the unique features and beautiful architecture on some of the buildings. On the left side is the picture taken from my hotel room in Terengganu at night scene. I wish we could stay there for longer but the traveling agent has made our time spent more in Kelantan instead of Terengganu.

Actually I don't really favor to go to Kelantan as I've been there a few times before. So, the excitement has decreased when we departed to Kelantan after 1 day in Terengganu. There's nothing much I can say about Kelantan except for its duty-free-area Rantau Panjang where i've been spending quite a lot of RM for garments and souveniers. Other than that, just OK.

I think our way back was
pretty exciting as we stop over at Tasik Banding (the left pic) which the scenery was fabulous-except for the dirty toilet.
Before that we previously stop over at R&R Titiwangsa where the wind so cold and fresh. So bad, that nice place was contaminated with trash thanks to 'great' human attitude. However, I managed to snap on some great scene as in the right hand pic. And the best thing is we had our chance to see a wild elephant by the road side when we leave the Tasik Banding. It's not everyone gets such the chance since it is a wild elephant which lives deep in the rain forest.

As the conclusion, I would say that this time trip was.... mm.. maybe nice but not great. In fact, I was more enjoyed when we reached back in SP last night. Anyway, thanks to my boss who had generously sponsored the whole trip. Who knows, next time we're going abroad for vacation maybe? ngeheheh

THE LUCK MATTER

The World is UNFAIR. Those are the very common words usually heard from some people who thinks that they're unlucky. The question is, why do some people have all the luck while others are perpetually unlucky? Professor Richard Wiseman of the University of Hertfordshire was determined to get to the scientific bottom of the luck, and what he discovered may surprise you:

I placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky to contact me.

Hundreds of extraordinary men and women volunteered for my research and over the years, have been interviewed by me. I have monitored their lives and had them take part in experiments. The results reveal that although these people have almost no insight into the causes of their luck, their thoughts and behaviour are responsible for much of their good and bad fortune. Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

I carried out a simple experiment to discover whether this was due to differences in their ability to spot such opportunities. I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to look through it and tell me how many photographs were inside. I had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper saying: 'Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $50'.

This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than two inches high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it.

Unlucky people are generally more tense than lucky people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected.

-a part of this article is taken from a site which I don't recall the name-

So next time when we feel down and unlucky, think again.. maybe it's just a part of ourselves weakness that leads us to that kind of UNLUCKY situation. Hope this 2009 will bring the best of luck.
